Ah, what would the festive season be without over the top Christmas lights illuminating the cold, dark December skies?

You might think they’re tasteless and vulgar, but come on, it’s Christmas. Here’s a collection of the very best Christmas light displays.

 This Boston house belongs to Dominic Luberto and has become famous amongst local residents for it’s awe-inspiring festive lights. And it’s easy to see why, with a reported 250,000 individual lights on display.

His electricity bill has been as high as £700 for the Christmas period alone, but donations from visitors have allowed him to donate thousands of pounds to charity.

 Probably the most famous Christmas tree in the world is this one, which sits slap-bang in the middle of the Rockerfeller Centre in New York. In recent years, the giant tree has become more environmentally friendly, switching to LED lights (30,000 of them to be precise) in order to use less energy. The tree is normally switched on at the end of November and attracts millions of visitors right up to when it’s taken down at the start of January.
