Amazing Christmas Light Displays
Ah, what would the festive season be without over the top Christmas lights illuminating the cold, dark December skies?
You might think they’re tasteless and vulgar, but come on, it’s Christmas. Here’s a collection of the very best Christmas light displays.
Boston Christmas Lights
This Boston house belongs to Dominic Luberto and has become famous amongst local residents for it’s awe-inspiring festive lights. And it’s easy to see why, with a reported 250,000 individual lights on display.
Virginia Christmas Lights
200,000 Christmas lights illuminate this home in West Virginia, which is made all the more spectacular by the surrounding trees also getting the festive treatment.
Baltimore Christmas Lights
Melksham Christmas Lights
We know how to put on a Christmas light extravaganza in the UK as well. Alex Goodwind from Melksham starts thinking about how he’s going to present his Christmas lights as early as July, such is his dedication to the display. His electricity bill has been as high as £700 for the Christmas period alone, but donations from visitors have allowed him to donate thousands of pounds to charity.
Brazil Christmas Lights
It’s hard to believe that this building in Curitba, Brazil is actually a bank, but it is. Every year, the Palácio Avenida or ‘Enchanted Palace’ is lit up for the Christmas season and becomes the centerpiece of a spectacular concert, where children sing out of every one of it’s windows.
Christmas Lights New York
Probably the most famous Christmas tree in the world is this one, which sits slap-bang in the middle of the Rockerfeller Centre in New York. In recent years, the giant tree has become more environmentally friendly, switching to LED lights (30,000 of them to be precise) in order to use less energy. The tree is normally switched on at the end of November and attracts millions of visitors right up to when it’s taken down at the start of January.
VanDusen Botanical Gardens Christmas Lights
The VanDusen Botanical Gardens in British Columbia, Canada, put on their very own Festival of Lights each year, attracting thousands of visitors from all around.
Denver Christmas Lights
Denver believe they have one of the most spectacular Christmas lighting displays anywhere in the world, with their illuminated County Building. This unique display incorporates over 20,000 lights and uses an astonishing five miles of cable.
Unknown Christmas Lights
Where these houses actually are is unknown, but how could they possibly be left out of the list? Christmas lighting madness at it’s absolute best.
Coca-Cola Christmas Lights
We all know Christmas never really starts until the illuminated Coca-Cola delivery truck rolls into town in their famous festive advert. Perhaps the most iconic Christmas lights display anywhere in the world from one of the most iconic brands. Holidays are coming!
